Alberta health care registration
We make it easy to register for health care coverage or update your personal registration information. These registration services are provided free of charge. All eligible residents of Alberta must register themselves and their dependants with the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP). If you are a new or returning Alberta resident, you must register for AHCIP coverage to receive insured hospital and physician services.
No eligible Alberta resident with appropriate documentation will be denied coverage.

Alberta One-Stop Registry Ltd. is your home for vital statistics services including applications for birth, death, and marriage certificates. We also issue marriage licences and perform legal name changes and searches. Please bring proof of identity to ensure the fastest processing possible. Parents may order a birth certificate for their children under the age of 18.
